Bridge Resource Management Course

The aim is to satisfy the minimum training requirements set forth in STCW A-II/1and A-II/2 for persons desiring to serve in the capacity of Master or Officer-in Charge of a navigational watch. Overall, it is to significantly reduce the risk of human error induced navigation casualties.
A participant successfully completing this course will have demonstrated the ability to:
• Have an improved understanding and appreciation of the factors contributing to effective BRM.
• Apply BRM behavioral skills in the appraisal, planning, execution and monitoring of a navigational passage.

Certificate
Those who have completed this course a documentary evidence is issued which certifies that the trainee was found qualified in Bridge Recourse Management.

ERM

Το provide knowledge and skills to operate, supervise and monitor the safe operation and control of a ship’s machinery installation in accordance with provisions of Section Α-III/1, A-VIII/2 and B-VIII/2 of the STCW95 Code.

In particular, the student will gain:

– familiarization with the use of instrumentation and controls used in the engine-rooms of modern merchant ships
– awareness of the need for proper pre-planning, the use of checklists and of the timescales involved in start up procedures
– understanding and awareness of correct watchkeeping procedures
– understanding of the way in which machinery units are interdependent
– experience in identifying operational problems and trouble-shooting them
– the ability to make decisions, which promote the safety and efficiency of an operational plant.

Certificate
Οn successful completion of this course, a certificate should be issued certifying that the holder has successfully completed a course of training on an engine-room simulator.

ECDIS

Those who successfully complete this course should be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge, skill and understanding of ECDIS navigation and electronic charts as per IMO model course 1.27 to undertake the duties of a navigational watch officer defined by STCW Code, as amended.

Certificate
Documentary evidence is issued to those who have successfully completed this course indicating that the holder has completed training in the navigational use and operation of Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) based on IMO model course 1.27.

Ship Security Officer

This course aims to provide knowledge to those who may are designated to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Ship Security Officer (SSO), as defined in section A/2.1.6 (and section A/12) of the ISPS Code and in Section A-VI/5 of the STCW Code and in particular the duties and responsibilities with respect to the security of a ship, for implementing and maintaining a Ship Security Plan and for liaising with the Company Security Officer (CSO) and with Port Facility Security Officers (PFSOs).

Certificate
A Certificate is issued to those who have successfully completed this course indicating that the holder has completed training in “Ship Security Officer “according to the requirements of reg. VI/5 of STCW 2010 based on the model course 3.19

Basic Training for Oil Tanker & Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations

Provided they hold an appropriate certificate and are otherwise qualified in accordance with regulation Section A-VI/1-1-1 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended, those successfully completing the course may be eligible to serve on board Oil and Chemical tankers.

Certificate
All who are qualified in Basic training for oil and chemical tanker cargo operations programme in accordance with regulation V/1-1 paragraphs 1 or 2 shall be issued with an appropriate training certificate.

Advanced Training for Oil Tanker Cargo Operations

Provided they hold an appropriate certificate and are otherwise qualified in accordance with Regulation A-V/1-1 para 2.2 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended, those successfully completing the Advanced training in oil tanker cargo operations course should therefore be able to safely perform their duties for loading, unloading and care in transit or handling of cargo on oil tankers. They will make a safer and more effective contribution to the operation and control of the cargo on oil tanker, which will improve the ship safety and provide greater protection to the environment in particular.

Certificate
All who are qualified in Advanced training for oil tanker cargo operations programme in accordance with Regulation V/1-1 paragraphs 3 shall be issued with a certificate of attendance of this course.

Advanced Training For Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations

This course provides training for masters, chief engineers, officers and any person with immediate responsibility for the loading, discharging and care in transit or handling of cargo. It comprises an advanced training programme appropriate to their duties, including chemical tanker safety, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations. The course takes full account of Section A-V/1-1 par. 3 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended in 2010.

This training is given ashore in a suitable shore-based installation.

Certificate
All who are qualified in ADVANCED TRAINING FOR CHEMICAL TANKER CARGO OPERATIONS programme in accordance with regulation V/1-1 paragraph 5 shall be issued with an appropriate training certificate.

Basic Training For Liquified Gas Tanker Cargo Operations

This course provides training for officers and ratings. It comprises a basic training programme appropriate to their duties for liquefied gas tanker safety, fire safety measures and cargo systems, pollution prevention, safe operational practices and obligations under applicable laws and regulations. The course takes full account of Section A-V/1-2 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watch keeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended.

This training is given ashore. Is supplemented by practical training on simulators in this training institution.

Certificate
All who are qualified in BASIC TRAINING FOR LIQUIFIED GAS TANKER CARGO OPERATIONS programme in accordance with regulation V/1-2 par. 1 shall be issued with an appropriate training certificate.

Advanced Training For Liquified Gas Tanker Cargo Operations

This course provides training for masters, chief engineers, officers and any person with immediate responsibility for the loading, discharging and care in transit or handling of cargo. It comprises an advanced training programme appropriate to their duties, including chemical tanker safety, pollution prevention, operational practice and obligations under applicable laws and regulations. The course takes full account of Section A-V/1-1 par. 3 of the STCW Code adopted by the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers 1978, as amended in 2010.

This training is given ashore in a suitable shore-based installation.

Certificate
All who are qualified in ADVANCED TRAINING FOR CHEMICAL TANKER CARGO OPERATIONS programme in accordance with regulation V/1-1 paragraph 5 shall be issued with an appropriate training certificate.

PASSENGER SHIP

A trainee successfully completing this training will be able to:
1. Control a crowd in an emergency situation on board
2. Locate essential safety and emergency equipment on board
3. Communicate effectively with passengers during an emergency
4. Demonstrate the use of personal life-saving appliances
5. Comply with the ship’s safety and emergency procedures

Certificate

A Certificate is issued to those who have successfully completed this course indicating that the holder has completed training in “PASSENGER SHIP “according to the requirements of reg. V/2 of STCW 2010.

Security Awareness

Those who successfully complete this course should achieve the required standard of competence as per reg. VI/6 par. 1 of STCW 2010 enabling them to contribute to the enhancement of maritime security through heightened awareness and the ability to recognize security threats and to respond appropriately. This knowledge shall include, but is not limited to:

1. the meaning and the consequential requirements of the different security levels;

2. knowledge of emergency procedures and contingency plans;

3. recognition and detection of weapons, dangerous substances, and devices;

4. recognition, on a non-discriminatory basis, of characteristics and behavioural patterns of persons who are likely to threaten security; and

5. techniques used to circumvent security measures.

Certificate
A certificate is issued to those who have successfully completed this course indicating that the holder has completed training in “Security Awareness”as required by reg. VI/6 par. 1 of STCW 2010 based on the model course 3.27

Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties

This course is intended to provide the knowledge required for seafarers with designated security duties in connection with a Ship Security Plan (SSP) to perform their duties in accordance with the requirements of Chapter XI-2 of SOLAS 74 as amended, the ISPS Code, and section A-VI/6 par.6 to 8 of the STCW Code, as amended.

Certificate
A certificate is issued to those who have successfully completed this course indicating that the holder has completed training for “Security Awareness Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties” according to the requirements on reg. VI/6 par.4 and based on model course 3.26.
