GMDSS simulator

Introduction All essential communication equipment found aboard a vessel is included in the simulator. It consists of a computer network connecting the instructor station with up to 15 student stations. All radio communica­tions equipment required for sea areas A1 to A4 are included. To simulate search and rescue training. The equipment will enable students to obtain General Operator Certificate (GOC). It provides a total training pack­age combining interactive Computer Based Training (CBT) with PC simulation. Basic requirements for GMDSS examination training is acquired through our comprehensive CBT package.

Instructor stations
The instructor station consists of a PC including keyboard, mouse, monitor, printer, and headset. It allows the instructor to create exercises. These param­eters include geographical position, ship's heading and speed, identification name and numbers, sea area, and types of equipment simulated on board.

Student stations The student stations can communicate with the instruc­tor or between each another, acting as ships, aircraft or shore stations. Depending on the training objective specific exercises to cover those areas can be designed. The instructor can configure which instruments are available to the students for each exercise, as well as simulating loss of equipment.

Equipment The simulator includes all equipment required to carry out advanced exercises in all aspects of GMDSS/SAR training. The various equipment is realistically emu­lated on the PC screens graphically simulating the radio equipment most commonly used onboard ships today.

Approval
GMDSS simulator, is officially approved by yprus Flag Administration, to be in full compliance with and exceeding the requirements of STCW -95, ITU, SOLAS and most other Flag Administrations.
