Equipment design.

The bridge equipment has been designed to resemble real equipment, providing realistic training. Each equipment panel is designed with maximum training value in mind, and a mix of analogue and digital presentation is used to correspond to current ship's practice. Accuracy and technical specifications are similar to those found in real ship's equipment. All instruments are completely developed and ready to meet a variety of different requirements including STCW section A-II/1.







Chart Top Systems

The Polaris Radar/ARPA is an alternative to a real Radar/ARPA connected to the Polaris Ship's Bridge Simulators. As a manufacturer of real ARPA's since 1969 we can guarantee that the Polaris Radar/ARPA has the same quality and functionality as our onboard equipment. The functionality of the Polaris Radar/ARPA is in accordance with IMO Resolution A.823 and MSC.64 Annex 4. All functions and features found in a real Radar/ARPA are present and the operation is similar to that of a real Radar/ARPA.

The radar display gives a realistic presentation of coastlines, targets, buoys, sea clutter, rain clutter and radar interference.

Earth's curvature, tidal heights and blind sectors are also taken into account when the radar picture is generated.

The following illustration gives an impression of what one radar pulse may "see".

We can provide a variety of different ECDIS displays to meet your exact needs including radar overlay.
In most cases we would recommend our own ECDIS display. This display includes the following main features:

ECDIS Chart Display - designed to meet IMO/IHO performance standard ECDIS (PS).
IHO authorised S57/DX90 charts (where available).
