The emergence of new trading routes across ice-bound areas, coupled with global warming and advances in ship-building technology, has generated new opportunities for ship-owners and operators.

  • To enable safe navigation of vessels through an understanding of the unique environment and ship handling in ice conditions.
  • To understand the human factors affecting the performance of navigators operating under ice conditions.

To all who are qualified a certificate is issued certifying that a trainee has met the requirements laid down in Section B-V/G of the STCW Code.
