All hydrocarbons, whether crude oil or products are flammable. The inert gas systems are aimed to prevent fire and explosions, in other words provide safety when sailing and working on a ship. This course explains the principle of operation of inert gas systems and shows how to operate them. It is very useful for news trainees and experienced marine engineers.

To all who are qualified a certificate is issued certifying that a trainee has met the requirements laid down for the Inert Gas System and Operation according to the requirements of SOLAS Reg II-2/60
